Radar Polarimetry for Geoscience Applications offers you the only consolidated reference on radar polarimetry design, analysis, and application. Written by leading experts at the University of Michigan and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology, this book explains the most recent developments in polarization system design and application. You'll find this practical approach easy to follow and clearly illustrated with 150 figures, 10 tables and 9 full color SAR images. This handbook gives you a working knowledge of polarimetry with a review of the fundamental theory, system hardware, calibration techniques, and models for point targets and distributed targets.
Introduction. Wave Properties and Polarization. Scattering Matrix Representation for Simple Targets. Scattering Models for Point Targets. Scattering Models for Distributed Targets. Polarimetric Scatterometer Systems and Measurements. Polarimetric Radar System Design. Polarimetric SAR Applications.
